Merry Christmas

December is a wonderful month in our family - many birthdays - Christmas of course and lots of hockey. With all those things MyGrandpasPen is quietly sitting on the back burner while I dream up new designs and of course, send my Christmas cards to everyone I know.

I wish everyone a blessed Christmas season and I look forward to getting back to whatever passes for normal in the New Year!

Treasury...

Treasuries are really a fun part of life at Etsy. They're collections of items for sale, often created on a theme or color, sometimes both! This one featuring my handpainted card was created by juliechristie http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5282069 - check out her shop - she has wonderful items incorporating her own glass beads. Thanks Julie for including me in this great collection! You can see the treasury at http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=35323 until Dec 11 at 12:55am.

Maybe I really am cheating on etsy???

So now I've opened a shop on artfire! I decided to try one of the free accounts- you can only have 10 listings at one time but as far as I can tell you don't pay for listing or for selling. I've had no activity as far as I can tell at shophandmade so I put those 2 listings as well as a couple of others on artfire. Each item has had a couple of views so we'll see what happens.

I figure more internet exposure is never a bad thing. Hopefully! There's also great instructions on etsy forums about adding your items to google base so I did that again too. I wish I knew if any of these things were actually producing results or not but it's lots of fun figuring out new things to try.

This blog has become kindof a record of the different approaches I've taken to my online stores. I think it will be really interesting for me to come back and look at in the future.

More treasury fun...

So this time I made a treasury! I was in the critiques forum on etsy a few days ago and there were so many artists and photographers in there that hadn't sold anything yet. I went to pounce and starting looking at undiscovered shops and wrote down some of my favorites. Today I was lucky enough to get a treasury and put together one using those shops from the other day - check it out until Fri Dec 5.

Treasury Fun...

It's always really fun to be included in a treasury at etsy! This time I finally figured out how to include a screen shot. Special thanks to fellow Alberta Team member cindylouwho2 for including me! Here's a link to her etsy shop...
And the link to the treasury - which will be open for a couple of days probably...
